The prices that we quote include the holiday home itself, plus the costs for us arranging with our partners its delivery to the site, installation on the pitch and connection to the water, electricity and sewage services.

Don't forget that your holiday home comes fully furnished - you'll only need to shop for kitchen accessories and bedding! Additional costs will depend on your choice of decking, shed or optional extras such as washing machines.

All parks charge an annual pitch rental fee (typically between £2,000 and £4,000). Your contract with the park will clearly state the fee and the payment dates that you must arrange to meet. Site fees can increase on a yearly basis, often if the site plans to improve their facilities, but you should always be given reasonable warning of any increases.

On top of the pitch fee you'll need to think about water and electricity bills, which may or may not be included. You will be responsible for your own gas bottle supplies, including the deposit required for your first bottle. You will need an annual gas certificate provided by a registered engineer, although if you sign-up for Own a Holiday Home's annual maintenance contract, this will be included.

As with all visitors to France, you will be required to pay any local tourist taxes. You will also need to remember insurance for your home, which typically costs around £200 per year.

The annual pitch fee covers the park's maintenance costs, to ensure your site remains clean, attractive and safe. This can vary from park to park, but you should expect it to include sewage, rubbish collection, upkeep of public spaces, security measures and the site's local taxes too. It also gives you free access to use most of the park's facilities, such as the swimming pool complex. Items that the fees may not cover are water, electricity, and use of some facilities, such as spas or tennis courts.

That depends on how you view it. While it's true that the homes themselves don't actually increase in value over time, you'll be rewarded with many years of memorable holidays and, should you decide to rent it out, you'll find that this can repay your yearly site fees - allowing you to stay 'for free' whenever you chose!.
