general enquiries

First of all, you will need good access to your holiday home, so think about whether you plan to drive, fly or go by fast train. Where are the nearest airports with departures close to your main home; how long does it take to get there by road? If you have holidayed in France before you may have a good idea of which region you would like to be based in. We do have pitches on coastal sites, but remember they tend to get very crowded in high season. Do give some thought to the type of atmosphere you are looking for - large and lively or more secluded and peaceful or somewhere in between. Another consideration might be access to local facilities - how far is it to the shops, medical facilities and interesting local attractions?

There is a huge choice of holiday homes on the market, which can be quite bewildering. Own A Holiday Home has selected a range of homes which provide a choice of price, size, layout and style and are built by the leading manufacturers at home and abroad: Willerby, BK Bluebird, IRM and Samibois.

First of all check which makes and models of holiday home are allowed on the site you have chosen. The size of the pitch on the park of your choice will be your next consideration. Check which size of mobile home will fit. Then consider whether a home with a central lounge or with a panoramic end lounge will best fit the shape of the pitch and make the best of the views. Next you should consider the number of bedrooms you require. Two bedrooms is best for a holiday home in which you plan to spend a lot of time as you will have more space in the lounge and master bedroom. Three bedrooms are more popular if you plan to rent out your home or have frequent guests. For extra comfort some of our models offer an en suite wc or a second bathroom and this may be important to you. Last but not least, choose your favourite design, colour scheme and style.

We have a full range of holiday homes on site at our Cheshire headquarters and you are welcome to make an appointment to visit our show homes with a holiday home advisor. We also have most of our models on display at various locations in France and we can arrange a viewing trip to any of our parks to ensure you chose the site, and the home, that's right for you. We will cover some of the main costs of your trip for you.

If you have a specific model of holiday home in mind that we've not featured, or a park we've not covered, let us know. We have relationships with all the leading holiday home manufacturers and many of Europe's most popular parks - so give us a call, and let us know what you're interested in. Yes, all of the holiday homes which we sell meet the European standards required for mobile home accommodation. These cover elements such as electrical installations, gas appliances, insulation and ventilation.

The sales contract is with Own a Holiday Home Limited, a subsidiary of Holidaybreak plc, and sister company to Eurocamp and Keycamp. Your ongoing contract for your pitch is with the campsite owners.

It is relatively easy to buy a mobile holiday home in France, and you don't need any special documentation to own a property there. There are no legal fees to be paid.

It depends on the holiday home you choose. It can be anything from 2 weeks to 3 months. A French model or one that we have in stock, will arrive more quickly than a model which we order especially for you. Resale models can be moved relatively quickly too.

Travelling with a pet has been made much easier with the new animal passport system but each site will have its own rules, so check with us first. In general small and medium size dogs are not a problem as long as they don't feature on the dangerous animals list. Do keep in mind that you will have to keep your dog on a lead.
