A delightfully situated site, Le Canal offers easy access to the Pyrenees in the south and the Dordogne to the north
Nature is all around you at Le Canal, a new site set in 24 acres of landscaped grounds - offering lots of space, generous pitches, access to an adjoining fishing lake and pathways through fields bright with orchids. Little wonder that, in a relatively short time, this immaculate site has proved very popular with holidaymakers. Imagine, then, having your very own holiday home here. You could spend the day fishing in the park's private lake, enjoy a spot of sunbathing around the pool, or explore the canals and villages just beyond your local town of Montech, with its excellent restaurants and inns. Back on site you can chat with new friends over a drink in the bar, invite them over for a meal at your place or simply relax, knowing you've secured your spot in one of the most sought-after new sites in the south of France.

For a day out, the city of Toulouse, with its fabulous range of shops, restaurants and cultural activities is less than an hour's drive. The old quarter of Toulouse, on the bank of the river Garonne, is a magical cluster of winding streets, impressive villas and restaurant-lined squares. The impressive town hall can be found on the place du Capitol. Visit any of the striking local châteaux, the estates of which produce the area's sublime Armagnac - and sell it too! Lourdes, of course, is more of a pilgrimage than a day trip but its magic isn't just reserved for the converted. Luz-Saint-Sauveur, on the other hand, is a serene mountain village and spa resort surrounded by the towering mountain peaks of the Pyrenees. Go north and you have the famous Roman cloisters in Moissac and the southern-most towns of the Dordogne to explore.

Toulouse:
The central, old quarter of Toulouse, which lies on the bank of the river Garonne, is not to be missed. The impressive town hall can be found on the place du Capitol and there are numerous museums. There are many châteaux producing Armagnac in the area and Château de Assaigne offers a free-guided tour and degustation.
Lourdes:
A unique centre of Roman Catholic pilgrimage and scene of some apparently miraculous cures. A most moving spectacle. English-speaking guides are available.
Luz-Saint-Sauveur:
A well-kept mountain village and spa resort surrounded by towering mountain peaks. The attractive streets house numerous shops, cafés and restaurants and the scenery is superb. There is a particularly interesting Templar church in the village.
Dishes include ‘daube de porc’, pork, carrots and herbs braised slowly in red wine, ‘poule au pot’, a casseroled chicken dish and ‘magret’ of duck, slices of duck breast which is generally pink in colour and very rare. The Pyrénées boast some distinctive cheeses including ‘fromage de brebis’ (made from ewes’ milk). Desserts include ‘croustade’, a tart of apple and Armagnac, or ‘pruneaux à l’Armagnac’, prunes in Armagnac.
